North Putnam School Board selects new A.D.

Friday, September 21, 2007

A new athletic director has been chosen to serve the North Putnam Schools with the school board voting Thursday night to accept a candidate.

Jason Sims, who is currently the assistant athletic director at Eminence High School, was approved by the school board with a 4-3 vote.

Sims did not attend Thursday night's meeting and will not officially be offered the job until Friday, school board member Charlie Boller explained to the BannerGraphic after the meeting.

Numerous candidates applied for the position vacated earlier this month by Brian Williams, but the board narrowed them down to just four.

"We had four really good candidates," Boller said.

The candidates included those currently holding other positions at North Putnam Schools and those outside the system.

Sims has been employed at Eminence for a couple of years and in addition to the assistant A.D., is a health and physical education teacher and girls' varsity basketball coach.

If Sims accepts the position, there is no word on when he will start. School officials hope soon.

  • Why did Williams resign in the middle of the school year?
