"This was truly a team win," head coach Trish Lowe said.
Although the Tiger Cubs grabbed the victory, it didn't come without sacrifice. Greencastle lost Kristen Flint in the first game and looked to its bench to fill the void.
"The whole team stepped up to fill the hole. Chelsea Samuels got a lot of time and did a nice job," Lowe acknowledged.
Olivia Miller had a big night, collecting 13 blocks, 18 kills, 13 digs, three stuff blocks and one ace, while Kelsey Hennette recorded 24 assists, 17 digs, four kills and two aces. Kayla Nobles colleced 16 digs and four kills, with Sarah Land adding five blocks, two assists and one kill.
Mallory Miller had two digs and one kill and Flint added three digs and one kill.
Two players giving the Tiger Cubs some huge performances were Brooke Lewis and Chelsea Samuels.
Lewis recorded 20 digs, five kills, five aces, three blocks, one stuff block and 19 points, while Samuels contributed six blocks, five digs, two stuff blocks and two kills.
Lowe acknowledged some key performances on the night after collecting the win.
"Samuels got a lot of time and did a nice job. Lewis served like a monster, with five aces," Lowe said. "Olivia (Miller) had her time to shine at the net and Nobles stepped up defensively. Sarah Land showed her versatility."
The junior varsity fell to the Cadets in three games. The Cadets won 25-14, 21-25 and 15-8.
