A memorial service has been planned for Rachel Cooper, 86, formerly of Putnam County, who died Jan. 12 in Panama City, Fla.

The service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brick Chapel Church with burial to follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Born in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Lucille Hutcheson. She met and married Red Cooper, her husband of 39 years.

The couple moved to Florida in 1956 where they owned and operated a Dairy Queen store. Also she volunteered 31 years at Bay Medical Center and delivered flowers to local nursing homes from the First United Methodist Church for 30 years.

Survivors include a son, Lee Cooper and wife Janna DeMarta Cooper, Crystal River, Fla.; a daughter, Lois Bolter and husband Jim, Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Anna May, Pompano Beach, Fla., and Mary Wichmann, Port Charlotte, Fla.; brother-in-law Bob Cooper, Greencastle; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
