Putnam County Jail

One person was booked into the Putnam County Jail Recently.

* Aaron John Wham, 21, of Locust St. in Greencastle, was booked in at 3:03 a.m. Wednesday by Greencastle Police Officer Jeff Modlin for public intoxication. He was released on his own recognizance.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to several runs Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday:

* At 4:41 p.m., firefighters were called to 1216 S. Bloomington St. for a lift assist. They were back on station at 4:50 p.m.

* At 6:17 p.m., crews were dispatched to 105 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. They found nothing and returned at 6:28 pm.

* At 8:54 p.m., firefighters were called to 400 N. Jackson St. for a hot smell. The found nothing and were back on station at 9:16 p.m.

On Wednesday:

* At midnight, crews were called to 405 S. Jackson St. for a fire alarm. They found nothing and returned at 12:10 a.m.

* At 9:34 a.m., firefighters were called to 517 E. Washington St. assist Operation Life on a medical run. They returned at 10:03 pm.

* At 3:58 p.m., crews were called to 409 S. Jackson St. for an active fire alarm. They found a hairdryer that set off the signal and returned at 4:04 p.m.

* At 6:44 p.m., firefighters were called to 304 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. They were told to disregard at were back on base at 6:48 p.m.

* At 8:36 p.m., crews were dispatched to 711 S. Locust St. for a smoke smell at a residence. They found a bad furnace motor that was to blame and returned at 9:05 p.m.

On Thursday:

* At 6:28 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 304 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. They were given a disregard and were back on station at 6:31 p.m.

* At 6:38 p.m., crews were called to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. They found nothing, reset the alarm and returned at 6:56 p.m.
