Putnam County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

• Robin A. Capps, 37, Center Point, was booked in at 3:30 p.m. Monday on a court order. She was arrested by Civil Deputy Mike O’Hair. She was transferred to Rockville Correctional Facility at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday.

• Earl Richardson, 44, Indianapolis, was booked in at 6:02 p.m. Monday for check deception. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released on his own recognizance at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday.

Sheriff’s Dept.

Three accidents were investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Dept.

• At 5:50 a.m. Monday, a truck hit a deer on Ind. 240 near CR 650 East.

Lt. Danny Wallace reported that Robert A. Nichols, 69, 9739 S. CR 825 East, Cloverdale, was driving west in a 2000 Chevrolet pickup when the animal ran in front of him and he could not avoid it.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 6 a.m. Sunday, two vehicles collided on Interstate 70 near the 40-mile marker.

Reserve Deputy Joe Tesmer reported that a 2001 Ford Taurus driven by Nathaniel L. Eakins, 23, Indianapolis, was driving east when he lost control of his car and hit a guardrail. An eastbound 2007 Ford Expedition driven by Robert M. Borders, 36, Bakersfield, Calif., collided with the car.

Eakins had a .10 percent blood-alcohol content.

Damage was estimated at $10,000-$25,000.

• At 11:18 a.m. Saturday, a car hit a motorcycle at U.S. 231 and U.S. 36.

Reserve Deputy Joe Tesmer reported that Joseph T. Armbruster, 24, Ladoga, was driving east turning north onto U.S. 231 when a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by William J. Fox, 51, Cicero, went around an oncoming car into the path of Armbruster’s 2000 Toyota Camry.

Fox was ejected from the motorcycle but no injuries were reported.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to several recent runs.

On Tuesday:

• At 5:55 a.m., firefighters responded to a medical assist with Operation Life at 1012 Canterbury. They returned to the station at 6:10 a.m.

• At 6:14 a.m., firefighters responded to Ind. 240 East and U.S. 231 for a service call, tree on the road. They returned to the station at 6:46 a.m.

• At 3:19 p.m., firefighters assisted Operation Life with a patient at a car accident, at 816 N. Jackson. They returned to the station at 3:35 p.m.
