An Ohio man was in the Putnam County Jail Tuesday for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon after police report he allegedly pulled a switchblade knife and tried to slash another patron at T-Bone's Bar & Grill at Cloverdale.

Putnam County Sheriff's Sgt. Thomas Helmer arrested Eldred Myron Proctor III, 35, Toledo, shortly after midnight Tuesday on the felony criminal recklessness charge and for possessing a knife with a blade that opens automatically, according to a police report.

Proctor allegedly pulled the knife after interacting with another patron at the jukebox in the EconoLodge bar on Cloverdale's north side, the report said.

Proctor was jailed without bail.

Meanwhile, Reserve Deputy Gary Boler responded to a two-vehicle crash at 6:16 p.m. Saturday at U.S. 36 and County Road 875 West.

Priscilla A. Watters, 27, Indianapolis, told police she was driving east on U.S. 36 when the vehicle in front of her, driven by Patrick Desgrange, 25, Cincinnati, stopped suddenly, according to a police report.

Watters was unable to avoid the collision and hit Desgrange's car, the report said.

Damage is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
