Sheriff's Dept.

Sheriff's deputies responded to six car-deer crashes Friday.

• Nancy L. Wilderman, 44, Rockville, told police she was driving west on U.S. 36 near County Road 400 West at about 5:25 a.m. when a deer ran in front of her. She told Lt. Danny Wallace that she then struck the deer with her 1999 Ford Ranger, causing less than $1,000 in damage, according to a police report.

• At 6:39 a.m., Deputy Gregg Slover responded to a crash on U.S. 36 near County Road 600 East. Tammi K. Culberson, 39, Eaton, Ind., told police she was driving west on U.S. 36 when a deer ran in front of her and she struck it with her 2008 black Pontiac Grand Prix, causing between $2,500 and $5,000 in damage, according to the crash report.

• Wallace responded to a third crash at 6:59 a.m. on County Road 275 East near County Road 350 South. David A. Plunkett, 40, Greencastle, told police he was driving south on County Road 275 East when he struck a deer that ran in front of his 2005 GMC Sierra, causing between $2,500 and $5,000 in damage, the police report said.

• At 8:31 a.m. Slover responded to a crash on County Road 500 East near County Road 300 South. Jennifer D. Lausee, 33, Greencastle, said he was driving north on County Road 500 east and struck a deer with her 1999 Pontiac Silhouette, causing between $1,000 and $2,500 and damage, according to the report.

• At 8:18 p.m., Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Downing was driving west on U.S. 40 near County Road 775 West when they noticed an oncoming car swerve off to the right side of the road. When he responded, Morgan C. Rissler, 20, Brazil, told him that he hit a deer with his 1999 Toyota RAV4, causing 2,500 to 5,000 in damage.

• At 8:52 p.m., Deputy Ronnie Campbell responded to a sixth car-deer crash at U.S. 231 and U.S. 36. Kyle L. McHargue, 19, New Ross, Ind., said he was driving north on U.S. 231 when he struck a deer with his 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck, causing $1,000 to $2,500 in damage.

Putnam County Jail

Three people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

• Clark Douglas Matthews, 53, Greencastle, was booked in at 8:12 p.m. Sunday by Greencastle Police Officer Eric Vaughn for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

• Justyn C. Rhyne, 27, Elkhart, Ind., was booked in at 1:32 a.m. Monday by Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy D. Brown for operating a vehicle, never being licensed.

• Anita Marie Keck, 42, Crawfordsville, was booked in at 9:37 a.m. Monday by jail staff on a petition to revoke probation.

City Police

Greencastle Police issued several recent tickets: Sgt. Charles Inman Jr. issued the following tickets:

• At 9:35 p.m., Pamela Bradenburg, 49, of Brazil was cited on South Bloomington St. for an expired license plate.

Reserve Officer Nicholas Eastham issued the following tickets on Nov. 2:

• At 10:28 p.m., Stephen Neumann, 46, of Rockville was citedon Indianapolis Road for an expired license plate.

• At 10:47 p.m., William Shearer III, 17, of Fillmore was ticketed for speeding, 72 mph in a 45 mph zone on 300 East.

• At 11:05 p.m., Christopher Scott, 28, of Greencastle was cited for an expired license plate.

Officer Darrel Bunten issued the following ticket on Nov. 2:

• At 6:33 p.m., Sandra Moore-Glass, 67, of Fillmore was cited on 240 East for an expired license plate.

Officer Travis DeLaGrange issued the following tickets on November 3:

• At 12:50 p.m., Danna Walker, 45, of Poland was cited on Bloomington Street for a false/fictitious registration and driving while suspended.

• At 3:45 p.m., Andrew Tesmer, 20, of Greencastle was cited on Wood Street for an expired license plate.

• At 6:35 p.m., Rodney Smith, 53, of Indianapolis was cited on Bloomington Street for an expired license plate.

• At 6:50 p.m., Mark Jedele, 19, of Greencastle was cited on Bloomington Street for an expired license plate.

• At 8:15 p.m., Ricky Johnson, 23, of Harmony was cited on Bloomington street for an expired license plate.

• At 8:30 p.m., Matthew Kuchler, 37, of Greencastle was cited on Percy Julian Drive, for an expired license plate.

• At 2:50 p.m., Lisa Woodall, 38, of Greencastle was cited on West Walnut Street for and expired license plate.

• At 4:45 p.m., Stephanie Kline, 34, of Greencastle was cited on East Washington Street for a seatbelt violation.

• At 6 p.m., Richard Spencer, 60, of Greencastle was cited on Indianapolis Road for an expired license plate.

• At 4 p.m. on Sunday, Brent Rubeck, 28, of Crawfordsville was cited on South Bloomington Street for an expired license plate.

• At 5:30 p.m., Kimberly Buckman, 31, of Clayton was cited on Percy Julian drive for an expired license plate.

Officer Christopher Hlemer issued the following tickets on November 2:

• At 5:19 p.m., Joshua Underwood, 24, of Greencastle was cited on 231 South for an expired license plate.

• At 6:35 p.m., Jeffery Sigworth, 47, Greencastle, was cited on Veteran's Highway for an expired license plate.

On Nov. 3, Officer Christopher Jones issued the following ticket:

• At 4:40 p.m., Joey Harmon, 41, of Clinton was cited on Jackson Street was cited for speeding, 60 in a 30 mph zone.
