Georgia A. Carrier, 83, Greencastle, died Tuesday at the Eagle Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center, Indianapolis.

Born in Putman County, she was the daughter of Lewis Amory and Blanche (Akins) Bales.

She worked at a seamstress at Angwell Curtain Company and was a member of Hanna Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are her two sons, William Carrier, Louisville, and David Carrier, Greencastle; sister Neva Lokas, Chicago; step-sister Louise Harmless and husband Wilfred, New Winchester; brother Lewis Clyde Bales and wife Kathleen, Cloverdale; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Barnett Carrier. Also preceding in death are her mother, father, step-mother, Hazel A. Darnell Bales, her daughter, Sharon L. Shaw and her two sisters Mary Betty Darnell and Eleanor Lokas.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. Patrick Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation is on Friday from 11 a.m. to the time of service.
