Boetjer scores 23, Eagles win

With a strong performance from Oceaia Boetjer, the South Putnam girls' basketball team defeated West Vigo 58-48 Tuesday night.

The fourth quarter was the difference maker for the Eagles. South Putnam outscored the Vikings 18-7 in the final period to seal the victory,

The game began with the teams knotted at 15 after one. The Eagles entered the half down 26-23.

South Putnam made a run in the third to cut the lead to one and then delivered its come from behind heroics to close out the game.

Boetjer led the Eagles with 23 points, ten of which came in the closing quarter. Meghan Canary added 14 and Bailey Birt chipped in seven. Leeah Butts scored six, with Liz mink adding four, Heather Hughes three and Kelsey Searles one.

The Eagles (3-2) will travel to Danville at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
