Shirley Mae McNabb Speas, 70, Russellville, died early Saturday at St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville.

Born at Burns City, Ind., she was the daughter of Hallie James and Lestel Pearl (Inman) McNabb.

She married Leonard Dean Speas on Nov. 6, 1960 at Scotland, Ind., and he survives.

She operated a beauty shop in Russellville from 1969 to 1996.

She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Circle, Active Baptist Campers, was a Sunday School teacher, and a member of an extension homemakers club at Russellville. She was a graduate of Scotland High School and attended Lafayette Beauty Academy.

Also surviving are son Lonnie Dean Speas and wife Michele, Roachdale; daughter Connie DeAnn Porter and husband Jeff, Waveland; brother Darrell McNabb and wife Sandy, Scotland; and sisters Jean James, Rockville, and Claudia James and husband Raymond, Midddletown; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Machledt and Servies Funeral, Waveland, with Pastor Wallie Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery at Russellville.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
