NP girls' basketball wins second game in a row

BAINBRIDGE -- The North Putnam girls' basketball team made it two in a row as they defeated North Vermillion 32-23 at home Tuesday.

Carlye McGaughey had a huge night for the Cougars, as she connected on six three-pointer for 18 points. Shawna Johnston followed with six points and Taylor Alles with four points. Dakota Malayer and Elsiana Crosby with two points each.

North continued its assault on the boards, collecting 31 as opposed to North Vermillion's 15. Johnston and Alles grabbed nine each and Leah Crosby had eight.

The North Putnam junior varsity also picked up a win against North Vermillion 20-13. Shilah Kumaran lead the way with eight points and Ashley Stigall added four. Megan Robinson and Malayer scored three each and Morgan McLaughlin chipped in two points in the win.

The North Putnam varsity girls will take on Cascade on the road at 6 p.m. Friday.
