Main Street Greencastle lights up the square

The holiday lights in downtown Greencastle will shine a little brighter thanks to a gift given to Main Street Greencastle nearly a decade ago.

The late John Richardson, Greencastle, designed, built and donated the lawn ornaments and donated then to the non-profit in 1997. Putnam County employees Dave Denny and Kenny Hutcheson erected the lights on the south side of the courthouse lawn on Wednesday afternoon using materials donated by Cash Concrete.

"Almost everything that happens for Main Street Greencastle happens because someone donated their time, materials or money," said a member of the Main Street Greencastle Board. "None of this just happens."
