Nellie Rose Green

Nellie Rose Green, 80, Salem, died Sunday morning at Meadowview Health Care Center in Salem.

Born in Washington County, she was the daughter of Elza and Loraine (Ridener) Highfill.

She was retired from ravelers in Orleans, and was a former employee of Goodwill Industries and Meadowview Health Care Center. She was a member of Saltillo Christian Church and Rebekah Lodge 238 in Seminole, Okla, and the Mitchell VFW Auxiliary.

She married William R. Green in June 1944. He died April 14, 1978.

Surviving are four sons, Robert E. Green, Greencastle, Gary L. Green, Salem, William E. Green, Bedford, and Roger D. Green, Tulsa, Okla; brother Larry Cooper, Hardinsburg; four sisters, Dorothy Faris, Saltillo, Darlene White, Campbellsburg, Linda Cooper and Rita Cooper, both of Hardinsburg; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Saltillo Christian Church with Joshua Brumfield officiating.

Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Weathers Funeral Home, Salem, and 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
