NP swims at North Montgomery

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The North Putnam boys' and girls' swim teams competed in the three-way meet against North Montgomery and Covenant Christian. The boys finished in second place with a total of 87 points, while the girls finished third with 71 points.

Jon Taggart was one of North Putnam's two first place boys' finishers on the night. Taggart won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:11.97 and Patrick Byrd paced the group in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:04.17.

For the girls, Katie Wilcox finished the meet with two wins for the Cougars. Wilcox finished the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.19 and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:01.17.

Next up for the Cougars will be the WCC meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday on the DePauw campus.
