Cougar JV girls fall to Bulldogs
MONROVIA -- The North Putnam girls' JV basketball team let a halftime lead against Monrovia slip away Thursday, losing to the Bulldogs 38-30.
The Cougars led 14-6 at the half after holding Monrovia to zero points in the second quarter, but the Bulldogs more than made up for it in the second half.
Monrovia outscored North Putnam 32-16 in the second half to take the win.
North Putnam was led by Megan Robinson with 10 points and Paxton Stephenson with eight. Shilah Kumaran scored seven points in the loss with Ashley Stigall and Brianna Bryan adding two. Dakota Malayer contributed one point.
The Cougars got into foul trouble late in the third and the Bulldogs attempted 14 free throws to North Putnam's seven.
