Don Lloyd Tate

Don Lloyd Tate, 92, Indianapolis, formerly of Greencastle, died Sunday.

Born in Greencastle, he was the son of James and Cinda Wright Tate.

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School and later worked at Swisher Cigar Company where he retired in 1977.

He was a long-time member of Broad Ripple United Methodist Church, Murat Shrine Directors Staff, Millersville Blue Lodge and Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his companion, Julie Coy; and several nieces and nephews, including Nancy Farmer, Shirley King, Marilyn Jackson, Norma Nauman, Beverly Arnold, Gretna Huber, Gilbert Tate, Dan Clark and Dick Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Vera Jean Tate and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
