Born in Eminence, he was the son of Burness W. and Emma (Whitlow) Fletcher.
He was a graduate of Morgantown High School class of 1940. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1941-45. He attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. He later returned to the Navy and served in the Korean War from 1950-52.
He operated a watch repair shop in South Carolina; worked at RCA in Bloomington and retired in 1995 from Lockheed Aircraft in California, having worked as an instrument technician for 25 years.
Survivors include his brother-in-law, James McMillan, Greencastle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Doris McMillan.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Forest Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, is assisting with arrangements.
