Born in Bloomington, he was the son of Claude and Martha Joan (Stanger) Strouse.
A 1968 graduate of Spencer High School, he was retired from Wetterau in Bloomington after 21 years, and was currently working at Wal-Mart Distribution in Greencastle. He served with the Indiana National Guard and belonged to the Spencer American Legion.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Richard Strouse and wife Sheilla, Lebanon, and David Wayne Strouse and wife Cheryl, Greensburg; sister Regina Roberts, Freedom; and one grandchild, two newphews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gene Strouse.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at West and Parrish and Pedigo Funeral home, Spencer.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Spencer.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. to service time Saturday.
