Cougar seventh girls fall

The North Putnam seventh-grade girls' basketball team dropped a close contest with Speedway 30-27.

Katie Welch and Samantha Lucas scored eight points each to lead the Cougars and Loren Human chipped in six points each. Brook Matthews added three and Cassie Aymes tallied two points.

North Putnam will host Danville at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
