Ella E. Army Temple, 87, Avon, died Monday.

Born in Edinburgh, Ind., she was the daughter of Alton Leroy Army and Ida May Taylor Army. She married John L. Temple on Jan. 29, 1949, and he survives.

A 1939 graduate of Sheridan High School, she attended a two-year business program at Indiana School of Business from 1940-42.

She was first employed in Indianapolis by Vonneguts and later worked for Westinghouse. Later she was a homemaker.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Johnny Darlene Borden and husband Alan, and Karen Temple and husband Benedict Dulaski; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Betty Millikan Skidgel and Lucille Frances Zathan.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon.

Visitation will be 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday and again from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
