Greencastle Fire Dept.

Greencastle firefighters made the following run Thursday:

* At 3:47 p.m., crews were dispatched to investigate an alarm set off by cooking at 105 W. Hannah St. They returned to the station at 4:01 p.m.

City Police

* On Monday at 6:01 p.m., two vehicles collided at Ind. 240 and Percy Julian Drive.

Officer Ed Wilson reported that Amanda Watson, 17, Greencastle, was driving a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica when she stopped southbound at the intersection and then pulled into the westbound lane of Ind. 240. Watson told police she did not see an oncoming car prior to the collision.

Herschel Godsey, 47, Brazil, was driving a 1996 Dodge Intrepid west when he said the van pulled in front of him and he could not avoid the collision.

Witnesses confirmed to police that the van did stop at the intersection and then pulled onto the highway.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Assisting Wilson at the scene were Officer Albert Epple and Reserve Deputy Mike Downing.
