William Carson Clark, 84, Brazil, died Thursday at Cloverleaf Health Care Facility.

Born in Clay County, he was the son of William Henry and Melda (Whited) Clark and later served in the U.S. Army from 1943-46. He Married Thelma L. Froderman on June 19, 1943, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2006.

He worked for 33 years at Amax Coal Company. He began Clarks Lawn and Garden in the early 1970s. He worked with his son Robert until fully retiring in 2000.

He was a member of the Community Missionary Church.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Wayne Clark and wife Pam and Ed Clark; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by siblings Nell Baysinger and Francis Wilson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at French Funeral Home with Pastors Ed Mishler and Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
