GMS 6th grade girls move to 2-0

On Wednesday, the Greencastle sixth grade girls' basketball A team moved its record to 2-0 with a win over North Putnam. The B team fell to 1-1 with a loss to the Cougars.

The A team defeated the Cougars 24-20. Shelby Earl led the Tiger Cubs with 18 points. Jessica Strezlec was next with four points. Corrine Trigg added two.

In the B game, GMS lost a close one 21-19. Miranda Nuz led in scoring with 17. Tesmer added two.

Last week, the A team defeated Monrovia 16-13. Earl led GMS in scoring with eight points. Alex Basile added four. Jenna Berry had three and Shelby Bonebrake had one.

The B team also defeated the Bulldogs, 27-12. Nuz led the way with 16 points. Cox was next with three. Klinger, Stezlec, Pettit and Tesmer each had two.

The Tiger Cubs travel to Monrovia at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21.
