Zelma A. Phipps

Zelma A. "Zap" Phipps, 72, Bainbridge, died Saturday at St. Vincent Seton Hospital, Indiana-polis.

Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Rollie and Katherine (Kendell) Royse.

She was a homemaker and a member of the VanBibber Lions Club.

She married Franklin Phipps on April 21, 1953. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Lewis Phipps and wife Sarah, Brazil, Deronda Evens and husband Kent, Cloverdale, David Phipps and wife Ofie, Houston, Texas, and Kay Batty and husband Curt, Mooresville; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces andnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jessie and Rollie Royse Jr., and sisters Ruth Sanders, Geneva "Teeby" Walton and Vera Leslie.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Bainbridge Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday
