Saturday, March 8, 2008

A pair of car fires, one of them suspicious, kept firefighters from Cloverdale Township busy Thursday night.

Both occurred late Thursday night, south of Cloverdale near the town of Quincy.

Cloverdale?Twp.Fire Chief Kerry Shepherd told the BannerGraphic his department was called at 11:05 p.m. to 12404 S. CR. 750 East to extinguish a fully engulfed 1985 Ford F-250 truck.

Immediately following the clean-up of the first fire, a second one was called in just 1 mile down the road at 2866 Lowe Drive, Quincy.

This time, a 10-foot-by-14-foot shed went up along with a 1991 Buick Park Avenue. Only 10 feet away was a mobile home, which was spared.

Shepherd said the second fire is under investigation by the Owen County Sheriff's Department. The car, owned by Angela Daudy, was totally destroyed along with the shed.
