The Greencastle eighth-grade girls placed second at the South Putnam Invitational this past Saturday.
The Tigers Cubs were defeated by Cascade 17-9, forcing to them take on the host Eagles in the consolation game.
Against the Eagles, GMS squeaked out a 25-24 win in overtime. Taylor Pruitt connected on a layup in the final seconds and converted the free throw to win the game.
Pruitt led the Tiger Cubs with 14, while Kallie Brattain added seven and Jessie Bennett scored four.
