Images from the February storm show heavy damage at the Bainbridge Fire Station.
More than a month after tornado-like winds ripped the roof off the Bainbridge Fire Station and devastated other nearby structures, work is continuing on the restoration effort.

According to Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mike Smith, the rebuilding of the fire station is moving along.

"The roof should be finished today and we may move in another one-and-a-half to two months," he said.

The building was damaged by high winds in February and had to be stripped inside to the studs. A second building, under construction and meant to house additional emergency response operations, was also damaged.

"There was nothing but four walls left," added Smith. Currently, the fire department is using the community building across the street as their headquarters.
