United Way offers health service aid

The United Way of Putnam County announces the availability of grants for organizations serving the health and human service needs of Putnam County residents.

The mission of the Putnam County United Way is to create awareness of the health and human service needs of Putnam County residents, and to provide a trusted local mechanism for receiving and distributing funds to support those recognized needs.

The United Way of Putnam County grant applicants should focus their work around the mission of the United Way, especially in the following areas: fulfilling urgent and basic human needs, improving financial stability, helping youth succeed, increasing independence and self-sufficiency, and promoting individual and family health and wellness.

Interested applicants will first be asked to submit a Letter of Intent. All Letters of Intent will be evaluated by the Allocations Committee and are due to the United Way of Putnam County office located at 2 South Jackson Street, Greencastle, IN 46135 or to unitedway@airhop.com by 5PM on Friday, March 28, 2008. Organizations that meet the criteria set by the United Way of Putnam County will be invited to fill out full grant applications.
