Gertrude K. Mann, 92, Greencastle, formerly of Cloverdale, died Sunday at Asbury Towers, Greencastle.

Born in Lumberton, Miss., she was the daughter of John Wesley and Margaret Jane (Brock) Burge. She married Fred H. Amacker on May 2, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1945. She then married Leonard V. Mann in October of 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1999.

She was a homemaker and also a secretary for Jim Harris Chevrolet and Buick, Greencastle.

She was a member of Amity Baptist Church, Cloverdale, Tuesday Club, former member of Putnam County Council and Putnam County Hospital Guild. Leonard and Gertrude received the 1988 Putnam County Agriculture Hall of Fame Award.

Survivors include two sons, Fred O. Mann and wife Linda, Cloverdale, and Jerry W. Mann and wife Pat, Cloverdale; a step-daughter, Lenora Fossum and husband Dell, Decorah, Iowa; a step-son, Kenneth O. Mann, Coco Beach, Fla.; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Martha Eleanor Mann, steps-sons Richard L. Mann and Gordon J. Mann, sisters Eva Legg, Ruth Lewis and Dorothy Ryals, brothers Clarence Burge, Claude Burge, Leslie Burge, James Burge, Paul Burge, John Burge, Clifton Burge and Cleveland Burge.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. C. Robert Hine officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
