Euchre tournament to benefit supply drive

Thursday, March 27, 2008

A euchre tournament is set for April 3 at 7 p.m. at The Waters of Greencastle as part of their medical supply fundraising effort for The Convoy Support Center's Scania Burn Clinic in Iraqi.

In early March, The Waters launched a project to collect medical supplies for U.S. military men and women who operate the clinic providing aid to burned children in Iraqi.

Kori-Ann Curtis, a staff member at the nursing and rehabilitation center brought the project to the attention of Administrator Holly Watchel.

Curtis' uncle is a volunteer at the Iraqi medical facility.

Staff members decided they would like to help by providing supplies to treat the children who otherwise would receive little or very poor care.

The entry fee for the euchre tournament is a medical supply such as bandages, ointment and gloves.

The winner of the tourney will receive Indiana Pacer tickets that are for seats on the floor.

To register for the tournament, call Holly Watchel or Sally Fowler at 653-2602.

Medical supplies can be dropped off at The Waters or Armory both are located in Greencastle.
