Annual dinner, show to support A-Way Home

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

On Friday, April 11, the annual benefit for the A-Way Home Shelter will take place at the Walden Inn Social Center.

There will be a silent auction at 6 p.m., a cash bar and a soup and supper at 6:30 p.m. The performance will begin at 7 p.m.

The theme of this year's show is "A Farewell Tribute to Bob Bottoms," and will pay tribute to DePauw's retiring president. Dr. Warren Macy has written comedy skits and "news updates."

Award-winning DePauw professor Joe Heithaus will read a poem he has written for the occasion. Musical entertainment will be provided by Fret Set, the DePauw Jazz Ensemble, the Rhythmics and the DePauw Gospel Choir.

Tickets are $30 per person and may be purchased at Fine Print Book Store, the Blue Door Café, Gobin Methodist Church and the Friends of the A-Way Home Shelter who invite the community to join them for an evening of comedy and song. For more information contact John Dittmer at 658-4590.
