Cecil R. York, 57, Greencastle, died Monday evening at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of Irving R. and Bonnie Gass York. He married Cathy Thurston York and she survives.

He was a self-employed excavator with Cecil York Excavating for 35 years and was co-owner with his wife of York Oak Leaf Park and York Walnut Ridge Park.

Additional survivors include sons David York, Greencastle, and Jason York and wife Christina, Clay City; five grandchildren; sister Bonnie, Indianapolis; brothers Harold Wilson, Indianapolis, Gerald Wilson, Rensselaer, and Denzil Wilson, Indianapolis; and step-brother Larry Wilson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
