BAINBRIDGE -- North Putnam's baseball season is off to a rollercoaster start with the Cougars struggling to find the right formula for success. The Cougar dropped a home contest with Rockville 12-1 Friday night.

The Cougars were able to muster just three hits on the evening. Senior Kyle Rooker hit a solo-shot to give North Putnam their only runs of the evening.

David Church got the start, going one-and-a-third innings, giving up four runs on two hits. His replacement Tyler Watson didn't fare much better, allowing four runs and three hits over three-and-two-thirds. Reece Herron allowed four runs and three hits in an inning's work.

In addition to Rooker's homer, Brock Jones was 1-for-1 at the plate and David Church was 1-for-2.

Of their eight hits, Rockville had three home runs, one triple and one double.

The Cougars will host county rival Cloverdale on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
