DPU golf teams pick up pair of second-place finishes

KRIEGHAUSER LEADS WOMEN AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN SPRING FLING

The ninth-ranked DePauw women's golf team shot a 639 and lost to host Illinois Wesleyan by one stroke at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling at Ironwood Golf Course.

Kristen Kriegshauser shot a 153 and tied for third, while Ali Murtaugh tied for sixth with a 157. Nicole Garza and Erin Kielty each shot a 165 and tied for 22nd and Natalie Gough shot a 168 and tied for 34th. Playing as individuals, Annie Mail tied for sixth at 157 and Meagan Hayes was tied for 27th with a 166.

Olivet's Amanda Sanders and Ohio Northern's Meagan Brennan each shot 151 to share medalist honors.

DePauw concludes the regular season when it hosts the 54-hole Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Twin Bridges Golf Club in Danville, Ind., April 25-27.

PIATEK FIRES 157 AT HULMAN LINKS

DePauw shot a 633 and finished second by four strokes to Anderson at the Rose-Hulman Invitational at Hulman Links.

Joey Piatek finished in a tie for sixth with a 157 followed by Rob Harper in a tie for eighth at 158. Michael Reed shot a 161 and tied for 13th, while Alex Burns shots a 162 and tied for 17th with Peter Haller tied for 23rd with a 166.

DePauw returns to action on Friday when it hosts the 54-hole Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Twin Bridges in Danville, Ind.
