Born in Radford, Va., he was the son of the late Raymond E. Epperly Sr. and Faye Christie Epperly.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
He graduated from West Virginia University in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from Jeffrey Manufacturing Co. after 35 years. After retirement he worked as an engineer for CRSSirrine. He served in World War II as a medic in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dolores Bruce Epperly; a son Phillip Epperly and wife Cindy of Pataskala, Ohio; daughter Kathryn Nethers and husband Larry, Greencastle; sister Sarah Fortney and husband Ernest, Columbus, Ohio; brother Warren Epperly and wife DeEtta, Williamstown, W.Va; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a cousin.
Visitation will be from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Thursday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Greenville, with funeral services following at 4 p.m., conducted by Rev. W. Michael Bruce and Rev. Carol Allison.
Burial will follow at a later date at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
