Hilton W. Nettles

Hilton W. Nettles, 91, Reelsville, died Tuesday at his residence.

Born in McCall, Miss., he was the son of the late Zack and Molly (Corbin) Nettles. He married Mildred L. (Matthews) Nettles, and she survives.

He was a gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marines and served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He received six bronze stars.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Barbara Schrock and husband Ronald, Reelsville; a son, Charles H. Nettles and wife Penny, Cooper Landing, Ark.; two brothers, Barney Pete Nettles, Houston, Texas, and Luther Nettles, Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Idele Martin and a brother, Ernest Nettles.

Services were Monday in McComb, Miss. with burial in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, with military honors.
