VOTE

David Vote, 73, Kokomo, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008 in Kokomo. He was born February 9, 1935, in Evansville, to Clayson and Elaine (Kelly) Vote. On October 20, 1963, in Logansport, he married Marilyn Martin, and she survives.

He served in the United States Air Force, occupying Germany during that time. He then went on to serve in the National Guard for two years. He worked for Chrysler until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion, and Local Union 1166. He was a Babe Ruth Little League coach, a Nation Chief of the YMCA Indian Princesses Program, and an avid bowler. He enjoyed watching car racing, IU basketball, and the Atlanta Braves. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Marilyn Vote, he is survived by two sons, John D. Vote and his wife Tami, and Jerry L. Vote and his wife Lesley; one daughter, Janet Bentzler and her husband Rickey; six grandchildren, Courtney, Brooke, Austin, Natalie, Elijah, and Kristen; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Early, and Karen Harshbarger; and one brother, Marion Vote.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Lou Anne Young presiding. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
