Cloverdale wrestling club competes at finals

The Cloverdale Wrestling Club will compete at the state finals this weekend. The Clovers have stepped up their training on the week leading up to the tournament by training with two world-class coaches.

On April 29, the Clover grapplers traveled to Perry Meridian High School to have a two-hour workout led by University of Tennessee-Chattanooga head coach Chris Bono. Bono is a two-time National Champion and a three-time World Team member. He has also served as an assistant coach at Iowa State University.

On the following day, the Cloverdale wrestlers traveled to Lawrence North High School to train with Team Champion. Team Champion is a wrestling school led by legendary coach Jim Humphrey. Humphrey has coached the U.S. World Team, Canadian World Team, Canadian Olympic Team, U.S. Pan Am Team, U.S. Olympic team and the U.S. Junior World Team.

The Cloverdale Wrestling Club has competed in numerous tournaments leading up to the state tournament. They have competed at Whiteland, Perry Meridian, Columbus East, Franklin, Lawrence Central, Pendleton Heights and Mooresville.
