Cheatham, Koosman and Mattocks advance to regional for CHS

CHS senior Ashley Koosman is one of three Cloverdale athletes competing at the Bedford North Lawrence Track Regional. Koosman will particpate in the 100 meter hurdle and high jump events.

BLOOMINGTON -- Three athletes from the Cloverdale girls' track team advanced to regional in four events Tuesday night. Cloverdale placed eighth as a team with 29 points.

The Clovers' Elizabeth Cheatham placed third in the shot put with a throw of 36-feet-four-inches and was fourth in the discus with a hurl of 103-04.5. Both tosses by Cheatham broke the standing school records at Cloverdale.

Ashley Koosman also advanced in two events on the night. In the high jump, she tied with teammate Brynlea Mattocks in the high jump with a height of 5-foot even. Koosman also advanced in the 100-meter hurdles after placing fourth with a time of 17.53.

The girls' advancing to regional will compete at the Bedford North Lawrence Regional at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.
