Friday, May 16, 2008
Seventh grade pitchers Michael Hermann and Brodie Perrine combined on a five-inning no-hitter to help lead the North Putnam middle school baseball team to a 20-1 win over Danville Wednesday night.

Hermann pitched the first four innings and struck out six Warriors and yielded five walks. Perrine pitched the fifth and recorded one strikeout and two walks.

Seventh grade third baseman Austin Day and eighth grader Tyler Simmons each collected two hits for the Cougars who had 10 hits in the game. Day also knocked in three runs.

Seventh grader Brian Quates capped an 11 run third inning for North Putnam when he blasted a three run double. All thirteen Cougar players scored at least once in the contest.

North Putnam, 6-7-1, will host Speedway in a double header on Saturday.
