Wanda J. Patton, 82, of Greencastle passed away Thursday morning at the Putnam County Hospital.

Born March 21, 1926 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Dale C. and Lucille J. (Ash) Oler.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School class of 1944 and a graduate of Indiana Business College, Indianapolis, in 1946.

She married Robert O. Patton on September 21, 1946 and he survives.

Mrs. Patton had been a receptionist and secretary in the Admissions Office at DePauw University for 13 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship; the Democratic Women's Club; and the DePauw University Retiree's Club.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Pamela S. Sutherlin and husband, David of Cloverdale and Lori A. Thompson and husband, Bob of Newport Richey, Fla.; a son, Robert Dale Patton and wife, Anita of Winchester, Va.; three grandsons, Brandon Bennett and companion, Katie Paris of Greencastle, Kenneth Patton of Dillsburg, Pa. and Keith Patton of Dillsburg, Pa.; and a great-granddaughter, Jolene Patton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Vivian Patton; and cousin, Larry Bastin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Paul Champion officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
