Wardlow receives honor

TERRE HAUTE -- Putnam County resident Sherry Wardlow received the prestigious Heather Lynes Exceptional Service Award from the American Red Cross Wabash Valley Red Cross Chapter.

The award was presented at the Chapter's Annual Membership Meeting.

Sherry received the award for teaching Red Cross CPR and First Aid Courses in Putnam County.

"Sherry, a wife and mother of four with a full-time job, still finds the time, energy and enthusiasm to volunteer for the local Red Cross," said Chapter Executive Director Carol Stevens, who presented the award to Wardlow. "By teaching CPR and First Aid skills to Putnam County residents, she is helping to make Putnam County a safer place and furthering the life saving mission o f the American Red Cross here at home."

The Heather Lynes Exceptional Service Award is given by the Wabash Valley Red Cross Chapter to the volunteer who most exemplifies the volunteer values that Great Britain native Heather Lynes embodied during her extraordinary volunteer career with the Chapter.
