Mr. Richard Arden "Shorty" Williamson age 72 of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday morning at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.

Born Sept. 19, 1935 in Paris, Ill., he was the son of Foster and Frances (Blanton) Williamson. He was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School Class of 1955. He married Sue A. (Dean) Williamson on June 24, 1956 and she survives.

Mr. Williamson had worked at Mid-land Co-op (now Co-Alliance) for more than 25 years as an LP gas delivery driver, and also in service and LP product sales. He was the President of the Bainbridge Cemetery Board.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 47; Moose Lodge No. 1592; and the Eagles Lodge; all of Greencastle. He was a member of the Crawfordsville United Methodist Church. Shorty was an avid lover of John Deere tractors.

He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Sheryl Podemski and husband, Marvin of New Carlisle, Ind., Dean Williamson and wife, Cindia of Decatur, Ill., Charles Williamson of Crawfordsville, and John Williamson and wife, Kim of Greencastle; a brother, Tom Williamson and wife, Nancy of Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren,Stefanie, Brent, Marvin, Brian, Brittany, Brooke, Sarah, Kelsey, Rebecca, Shelby, and Hannah; four great-grandchildren, Quentyn, Brianna, Kendall, and Rebecca Lynn. He had a big heart , many friends and was loved by all.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Bainbridge Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Muncie officiating. Burial to follow.

Friends may call at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
