Frank Bert Wright Jr., 59, of Columbia, Mo. died Wednesday, June 18, 2008.

Mr. Wright was born Sept. 13, 1948, in Zarah, Kan. To Frank Bert Sr. and Mary Eileen (Baldwin) Wright. He married Georganna Kaye Wells on May 4, 1974, and she survives.

He graduated from Desoto High School in 1968 and attended Kansas State University for a year before being drafted in 1969. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

He attended Syracuse University and was a Russian linguist, serving in Japan and Germany before his time in the service ended in September 1973.

He began working with Shelter Financial Security Service in July 1976 in Topeka, Kan.

He lived in Lexington, Ky. and Greencastle before moving to Columbia in December 1999.

Also surviving are a son, Brian Michael and his companion, Shawna Victor, of Columbia; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Lynne and Steve Martinez; his mother; a brother, Jim of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Darlene Anderson and Patricia Frakes, both of Shawnee, Kan.; a half-brother, Ron Brauner of Joplin, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

His father, a brother, Freddie Ray and a sister, Anna Marie preceded him in death.

Calling is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia. No services are planned.
