Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Christine Heaslet, 33, Spencer, was booked at 4:25 p.m. Monday for possession or use of a legend drug.

* Courtney Nascimbene, 29, Coatesville, was booked at 7:56 p.m. for violation of probation.

* Richard Ruble, 31, Laurel, was booked at 11:23 a.m. Tuesday for non-support of a child.

Sheriff's Department

Several accident reports were turned in at the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

* On June 24 at 9:47 p.m., Janice Leonard, 67, Danville, was on U.S. 40 East when a deer ran in front of her and she was unable to avoid a collision.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

* On June 29 at 4:08 p.m., Ryan Lentz, 34, Indianapolis, was on Interstate 70 when his tire blew out causing him to fishtail and hit a guardrail.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* On June 30 at 12:10 p.m. Mark Kessler, 49, Crawfordsville, was southbound on U.S. 231 North in a tractor pulling a planter when a car came around a curve. Kessler pulled over but hit a guardrail damaging 10 row-planters.

Damage was estimated between $10,000 - $25,000.

* On July 1 at 8:10 a.m., Aaron Albers, 33, Roachdale, stopped to turn onto U.S. 36 but James Brown, 36, Avon, didn't see his turn signal and rear-ended Albers.

Damage was estimated between $10,000 - $25,000.
