Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail.

* April Brooks, 40, Greencastle, was booked at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday for theft.

* Brandon Parson, 21, Martinsville, was booked at 4:13 p.m. for failure to appear.

* Lori Caruso, 42, Brazil, was booked at 10:43 p.m. for operating while intoxicated.

* David McCormack, 48, Greencastle, was booked at 1:29 a.m. Thursday for operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Sheriff's Department

Several accident reports were turned in at the Putnam County Sheriff's Department recently.

* On June 25 at 12:10 p.m., Andrew O'Neal, 30, Fillmore, was on C.R. 750 South coming to an intersection when his brakes locked up and he slid into a utility pole.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

* On July 1 at 6:25 p.m., Jessica Beck, 16, Bainbridge, was on West Walnut Street when she veered off the road, overcorrected, and ended up overturned in a ditch.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* On July 2 at 3:34 p.m., David Howard, 57, Ladoga, was northbound on U.S. 231 nearing U.S. 36 and stated that Doris Callerderq, 91, Greencastle, was in front of him with her right turn signal on. She was entering the intersection and suddenly stopped and Howard ran into the back of her.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.
