Members of the Mill Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. assist the Hendricks County Sheriff's Dept. in cleaning up the debris from the accident.
State Road 75 in Hendricks County was closed early Monday morning following a fatal car accident nearly two miles north of U.S. 40.

Lt. Jim Yetter of the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department said that Virginia Burke, 27, Coatesville, was southbound when she crossed the center line, hitting a bucket truck that was heading northbound. The truck was being driven by Robert Colee, Monrovia, and was owned by Poindexter Excavating.

The reason for Burke crossing the center line is unknown, Yetter said. She was alone in the car.

When the Banner Graphic arrived on the scene, the car was in a ditch immediately west of the highway and was resting on its side. The bucket truck was nearly 50 yards north of the car in the same ditch.

Burke was pronounced dead at the scene. Colee reported having no injuries. S.R. 75 was shut down for approximately five hours following the crash.
