He was a lineman for Indianapolis Power and Light Co. for 24 years.
He was a member of the Putnam County Dive Team, Search and Rescue.
Survivors include a daughter, Shelby L. Johnston; parents Harry and Ginny Johnston, Kathy Johnston; a sister, Kathy Acton; a brother, Tony Johnston and wife Renee; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon Chapel.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
