Peter Leroy Wingler, 56, Coatesville, died July 24, 2008 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Avon.

Visitation and services were Monday at the Danville Armory.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital and/or ABATE of Indiana.

Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, was entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Wingler was born Aug. 27, 1951, in Greencastle, the son of Maurice and Marjorie (Morgan) Wingler. He was a paramedic at Seals Ambulance Service of Indianapolis for the past four years. Prior to that, his EMS employment included EMAS, Rural Metro Care, Transcare, Wishard Hospital, and the former Hendricks County Ambulance Service in Brownsburg.

He served his community as a law enforcement officer with the Plainfield Police Dept. for seven years, the Town Marshal of Coatesville for 20 years, a Reserve Deputy for the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department, and a life member of the Coatesville Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a member of the former Coatesville Masonic Lodge, now associated with the Plainfield Masonic Lodge No. 653.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Wingler.

Survivors include his wife, Delana "Dee" (Lowry) Wingler; his mother, Marjorie Wingler of Coatesville; two sons, Peter Austin Wingler of Marina Del Rey, Calif., and Matthew Emsley Wingler of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Penny Langdon of Danville; and three brothers, Phil Wingler of Danville, Paul Wingler of Hillsboro, N.C., and Patrick Wingler of Sedalia, Mo.
