Billie Evan LeMay, 83, of Reelsville, passed away Aug. 1, 2008 at Union Hospital.

He was born in Du Quoin, Ill. on Aug. 24, 1924 to Evan and Evelyn (Teney) LeMay.

Prior to graduating from Brazil High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. During his four year Navy career, he was deployed on a submarine unit. Following his return home from World War II, he married Norma Crabb on June 22, 1946.

Bill worked in maintenance for IBM for 32 years. He was a lifetime member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 264 and the Scottish Rite, American Legion, Lions Club, IBM Club, and the Friendly Squares Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed farming, bowling, hunting, mushroom hunting, and most of all spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Maxine, Elizabeth and Margaret; Beloved In-Laws Harley (Dutch) and Mary Crabb; brother-in-law Don Crabb; sister-in-law Beatrice (Crabb) Embry.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Norma LeMay; daughter Billie Jo Crabb and husband Bill; granddaughter Leandra (Crabb) Meredith and husband Mike; great-grandsons Damon and Hayden; great-granddaughter Chloe; special nephew Tim Schurick and wife Chris; beloved uncle of several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, Brazil, on Monday at 10 a.m. with Revs. Greg Puttmann and Tim Voll officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
